In this February update, I’ve taken a moment to reflect on what makes Tasmania’s forest and wood products industry strong. Whether standing among trees or seeing timber used beautifully in the built environment, it is clear that our strength lies not in any single outcome, but in the connections that link forests, plantations, products and markets. The development of the Tasmania Forestry Hub Strategic Plan 2024–2027, shaped by input from more than 100 stakeholders, has provided a clear foundation for this work.
Attending the opening of The Forest building at UTAS was a powerful reminder of what our industry can achieve when quality, care and collaboration come together. As this is my final Hub update, I want to acknowledge the collective effort across the sector and the importance of continuing to strengthen those connections into the future.
